Taner has worked on numerous railway projects as as set out below: 

Advising the Contractor in relation to a FIDIC Yellow Book 1999 contract in Bulgaria. Numerous claims have been put before the Engineer and settled. Extensions of time have been awarded and complex negotiations took place in relation to the scope of the works being amended. The contract sum of the project was in excess of €150 million. Elements of claims not settled were referred to ICC Arbitration. Taner acted as sole advocate in arbitration proceedings.

Bulgaria

Advising the Contractor in relation to a heavily amended FIDIC Red Book 1999 Contract. Advise has been given throughout the project on issues that have arisen and assistance given on the claims presented. The contract sum of the project is over €40m. The contract was terminated and Taner drafted the Referral to the DAB which involved issues relating to termination and the Contractor’s claims for time and money. Taner was the sole advocate at the DAB proceedings and achieved a great result for the Contractor client. Subsequently, Taner was instructed to attend complex negotiations with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minsters of Finance and Transport resulting in a deed of settlement being concluded.

Macedonia

Advising the Sub-Contractor in relation to a delay and disruption claim involving a metro project with a contract sum of €130 million.

Saudi Arabia

Acting for a joint venture on a US$ 1 billion commercial railway project.  Drafting and preparing claims for the JV in relation to delay, disruption and variations.
